The tie-dyed Hippie Clothes of the hippies came about because of their love for natural colors and it was likewise a great way of customizing their outfits.  What better way to repurpose fabrics to make their own clothes than by dyeing the material using their preferred colors.  The men like the tattered look that seemed natural and stylish thus they would combine the tie-dyed shirt with bleached and fringed jeans.  Repurposed light cotton linens were commonly dyed and made into a Hippy Dress.  Young women would wear long frilled skirts, peasant blouses and long flowing dresses that either were tie-dyed or had paisley prints.  In the 1960s, it was easy to spot the hippies as you will see them wearing colorful tie-dyed clothing and handcrafted accessories.

A Hippie Bag is typically made of natural material like hemp or ruffian.  The hippies prefer anything homemade and they would make their own bags and accessories just as they would make their own clothes.  Repurposing materials to create simple and comfortable clothing is very common in the 1960s.  Instead of the restrictive and somewhat rigid style of dresses that their parents would impose on them, they would prefer wearing clothes that were casual and comfortable.  Hippie Clothes for women would constitute long flowing skirts and peasant blouses or hip-hugging jeans and skimpy tops while the men would go for frayed jeans, colorful tie-dyed shirts and leather vests or army jackets.
