It may have been a sign of rebellion in the 60s but the Hippie Dresses are considered chic and stylish these days.  The clothes are light, flowing, casual, and very comfortable.  Wearing one would make you feel stylishly elegant and dainty.  While the young people then had to make their own Hippy Clothes, these are easily available nowadays with several online shops specializing in hippy clothing.  You will find an assortment of colors and prints as well as clothing items from skirts and pants to blouses and dresses as well as hippy accessories.  Do not think that wearing a hippie-inspired dress would make you a hippie or outdated.  These days, wearing such clothing style makes you chic, cool, and fabulous.

In the early 60s, the fashion dictated a style that embodied the look provided by Italian designers.  The Hippie Clothing style came as a huge shock.  Just imagine men going shirtless or at times with only a leather vest as they attend concerts and festivals.  The typical hippie attire for men is frayed jeans, simple shirt and the fringed leather vest.  Some would be in military jackets or vests.  Hippy Clothes were certainly about being the opposite of what was socially accepted.  For added shock value, men had unkempt long hair and grew beards, which was so different to the clean-shaven look the men were sporting during the 1950s.
